Question by wkl: What type of white wine would pair well with an Italian seafood pasta dish?
I am having a smoked cheese appetizer, salad and a pasta dish of shrimp, crab, and smoked mozarella in a three cheese and sun-dried tomato sauce. What wine would you suggest? Nothing very sweet please. I am a fan of Riesling. Would that pair well? Provide any brands you personally like as well!

I hate sweet white. I like a nice Sauvignon Blanc. Jacob’s Creek make a really nice one, and it’s not too expensive either, but I’m not sure if they sell it outside of Australia.
If you’re in Australia, most big bottle shops should have it.

  1. short and to the point , thanks :)

  2. Pinot Grigio.

  3. Obsession Symphony — it’s cheap and delicious! and i’ve had it with seafood and pasta before too, it works really well.

  4. Illuminati Costalupo Trebbiano d’Abruzzo or Feudo Arancio Grillo – both Italian wines.

  5. Try an Italian white. Pinot Grigio is OK, but a Verdicchio or an Arneis would have more personality. Soave could be good as well — Inama makes a very nice one.

  6. I would select Benton Lane Pinot Gris. It sells for around $ 16 a bottle. It’s a great wine to pair with seafood…light yet full of flavor.
