Question by ask abOut me ♥__*: Can you give me a good healthy salad recipe?
I know salads are easy to make but I want something new.
I just put tomatoe, red onion, romain lettuce, pepper and red whine vinegar in my salad.
What else can be put in a salad to make it more rich, tasteful – delicious?

Do you have any ideas?

thanks

Try adding almonds or pecans and dried crandberries. Or here is an idea that is completely different. I got this recipe from allrecipes.com but it has become one of my absolute favorite salads. It is a strawberry spinach salad and it is truly amazing!

INGREDIENTS
2 tablespoons sesame seeds
1 tablespoon poppy seeds
1/2 cup white sugar
1/2 cup olive oil
1/4 cup distilled white vinegar
1/4 teaspoon paprika
1/4 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1 tablespoon minced onion
10 ounces fresh spinach – rinsed, dried and torn into bite-size pieces
1 quart strawberries – cleaned, hulled and sliced
1/4 cup almonds, blanched and slivered

  2. yea, i actually miss those games. Thanks Crowster!

  3. Deja Vu was the name of that game.

  4. At the risk of sounding like a cultural idiot, what is the significance of that figurine of a white cat with one paw raised? It has appeared in a lot of contemporary Japanese media.

  5. When I saw the title, I had to laugh. But it’s pretty good at describing the content of this game.

  6. Godspeed, Sir Cucumber!

  7. I remember almost beating this game, I wasn’t even in 1st grade yet . . Ages ago, I’m almost 24. Anyway, I’d play a bit every morning, and got a little farther each day. The “thumb battle” thing confused me though, I won most of them by dumb luck, but near the end of the game I remember losing to some monsters in a castle maze, I think . . Couldn’t seem to get past them . . NOSTALGIA. D=

  8. This was one of my favorite games as a kid! So epic.

Great point and click game, good music, it’s challenging…I loved this game growing up, I even wrote a comic book in 5th grade based on the game. It’s on virtual console if you have a wii.

  16. When you start playing this game, you expect it to be rather silly and easy. But like a vegetable, this game GROWS. Me and a buddy played this game this winter. We started playing it about 4 pm. About 8.30 I though “Well, in about an hour, we’ll probably have this game beat.

4.30 IN THE MORNING we had finally beaten it. I think it’s a brilliant game. Do I have to say more than “You pervert!”? ;D

  29. Salad can be so much more than lettuce! This salad is delicious and nutritious and looks BEAUTIFUL in the bowl! I just love it.

Black Bean, Corn & Edamame Salad

    Serves 4-6
    • 2 cups frozen edamame, thawed
•2 cup fresh corn (or frozen corn, thawed)
•1 15-ounce can black beans, rinsed and drained
    •1/4 cup diced sweet onion
    •1-2 tomatoes, diced
•1/3 cup garlic salad dressing (or to taste)
    •1/3 cup chopped cilantro
    •Salt and pepper to taste

Combine all ingredients in a bowl and toss to combine.
Chicken or shrimp turns this salad into a complete meal.

  30. I usually use a couple of different lettuces (not rocket, it is too bitter) grated carrot or julianne, snow peas, feta cheese or wotever you like, beetroot, celery, green apple, green grapes, lebanese cucumber, olives, anchovies , chopped up boiled egg, capsicum, tomatos, red onions and chopped up artichoke and ground pepper.

I then put either a ranch style dressing or just olive oil and basil which I make myself or balsamic (whatever you like really).

I also make sure that the portions are the same size, like i cut up everything, even the lettuce, so there is no BIG chunks of anything.

Also what is extra delicous, I will make the above and also fry some marinated chicken, pork or lamb skewers that you get from the deli at the supermarket. When cooked, I pull the meat off the skewers and toss the meat through the salad.

Once I have tossed it through the bowl, I then platter it up and also put things like sliced oranges or Honeydew melon around the edge of the platter. The family love it and so do my friends whenever I entertain.

Serve with French Sticks and an olive oil dipping sauce.
