  1. Thanks, Doug! Just wondering what part of the country your garden is in? I’m in coastal Northern California. Zone 14/15 in the Western Garden Book

  2. thanks

  3. It really isn’t worth trying to keep a tomato alive until next season, although technically a tender perennial that will survive if protected from frost, it will be far more likely to succumb to disease and will produce a poor yield of fruit (if any). Best of buying fresh plants each year, or sowing from seed!

  4. It depends on where you live. I live in the desert and my tomato plants are blooming. If your tomato plant freezes it will die.
Since your plant is in a pot, why not bring it inside for the winter? If you can’t bring it inside put christmas tree lights on it. My friend does this to keep his plants warm. If it is very cold, cover the plant at night.

  5. it will suffer old age and not thrive, though it might live.
