Question by kathrynLM: Is crushed egg shell good for my tomato plant?
I live in a condo, so I can’t compost. But, I’ve heard that you can add crushed egg shell to the soil of your plants. Is that something good for my tomato plant?

Yes it is good organic matter, even adding some coffee grounds works well. Mix everything in.

  1. It can’t hurt, and it is organic. Have you considered a worm bin? That can be done in a small space under the kitchen sink.

    I wonder if you will have to sneak out at night to dispose of your composted worm castings around your apartment landscaping, or is even that lacking? I live in the country, and this wouldn’t be a problem. Most gardeners would be thrilled to have your compost!
