Question by Phil G: I really hate tomatoes, but they’re everywhere and on everything. How can I learn to love tomatoes?
Tomatoes come on salads, burgers, and pretty much everything that can be dressed up in sauces and bread. I have never ever been a big fan, but I really want to. I’m tired of ordering things without tomatoes, and watching my friends go on and on about how wonderful they are. Any help would be great.

  4. Just use the leftover herbs for other dishes…for example she mentions chicken with lemon and thyme….why not make that? Also, the herbs she uses are in pots so you can replant them in bigger pots and have your own little herb garden on your windowsill.

  13. It is true.

  14. I hate how every recipe requires just a little bit of everything (especially the herbs), you end up spending tons of money and buy way too much !! too many left overs that end up rotting

  15. i dont like how she cuts the tomatoes.. must be messy to eat..

  17. Rita is awesome. Her family is lucky to have her in the kitchen.

  21. I love your videos!!! I have made this salad and loved it! Turning vegetarian a little over a year ago, I have been lost in what I believed to be good nutrition and not. Your videos have shown me the light I have been searching for and
have even made me a better overall person. I have lost 60 pounds and have begun to be very athletic. I am able to move around so much better on stage and my fans like me so much more. Thank you so much, keep the videos coming.

  22. I love this! It is soooo yummy! If you grow your own veggies, it makes it even better!

  23. thank you~~.

  24. That’s so nice of you to say. Thanks for the kind words. ~R

  25. thats easy, u can make yourself like any food.
Its so simple ive done this with tons of food, just starve yourself for ages, like have no breakfast and no lunch by about 2-6pm u will be soooo hungry u wil wana eat a horse. Before u eat anything else give yourself a little bit of tomato or cook something with tomato in it, i bet u wont be so hating of the taste then lol.

  26. well at home you can put a sauce on them to make them to your taste.

or generally the more you eat something the more you like it and get used to it. I used to hate mushroom, olives and courgettes, but my mum made me eat them till i started to get use to them. in other words learn to like them.
But if that doesn’t work then you obviously don’t like them and may grow into them, may not. So don’t feel bad about not liking them everyone has different tastes, don’t feel you have to like something because they are always used and people like them, you should be able to enjoy your food x x

  27. Spend some time learning how great they are for you. they have a lot of anti cancer benefits to them.

If you slice them thinner to start with they won’t be so juicy and it will allow you to acquire the taste for them.

  28. u aint miss nothing…tomatoes are so nasty…its not like u hate chocolate and wanna learn to like it…dont even bother…it dont make food taste better by adding a tomatoe…its just a way of meeting ur daily servings of vegetables

  29. Don’t feel bad, I don’t like them either and I am a chef. If you don’t like them, you don’t like them. I like them when they are cooked, because they have the acidic bite cooked out. If you really want to learn to like them, try cooking them, and slowly go from cooked to raw.

Also, when I go out and there are tomatoes on things, I tell the waiter that I am allergic to fresh tomatoes because if you just say no tomatoes, they may or may not keep them off. When you say you are allergic to them, you can give them s*** about it if it comes with them on it.

  30. i know how you feel , i still don’t eat them except pizza sauce and bbq sauce,

maybe if you eat marguerite pizza enough you will

  31. if you like ketchup and spaghetti sauce than you like tomatoes!

my husband hates them but he eats them in his cheeseburgers cause I encourage him to eat his veggies cause they are good for him!

  32. this might sound overly simple, but eat them. i used to have the same issue, now i love tomatoes, so much so i have to grow my own because i cant find any good ones otherwise (theres nothing like a true vine ripe tomato)
