Question by Ashley: Tuna salad without mayo or avocado?
I want something like a tuna salad but I dont have mayo or avocado.

can I just mix tuna, eggs, celery and onion? or would it be disgusting?
I only have cherry tomatoes, I use raw onions for lots of things I make. I do have olive oil, vinegar and lemon.

It would be pretty dry. Maybe add some tomatoes or mustard or other ‘wet’ ingredient for moisture, or at least don’t drain the tuna as much as you normally would.

  1. You can, but I would go steady on the raw onion unless you know everyone likes it. Have you tried raw onion?

  2. You need something to bind the ingredients. What about a little oil and vinegar, lemon, salt, pepper. Then toast some bread so it can hold it up and add some sliced tomato on top! Thats if you have these ingredients.

  3. Do you have any creamy type salad dressing? you could substitute that for the mayo, I’ve done that before when I’ve been desperate.

  4. you can make a dressing with the olive oil, vinegar and lemon.

  5. gotta love Tuna salad
