Question by jocey-s: Does green liquid in between the seeds of a tomato mean its bad, or normal?
A friend gave me some cherry tomatoes from her garden on Friday. I kept them in the fridge and cut them open today. Some are green on the inside. Does that mean they are bad, or that’s normal?

Its fine… perfectly normal. A bad tomato would be mushy, soft and maybe bruised.
Besides. ALL tomatoes start out green until they ripen. Green tomatoes are edible, too.

It’s normal these days. Tomatoes are picked before they are ripe so they can be shipped coast to coast without damage. Then they are “ripened” with etheline gas (which makes them red). The juicy insides don’t ripen from the gas. Let your tomatoes sit out on the table for a day or two and they will actually really ripen somewhat. The green stuff won’t hurt you.
