Question by bill: What is the reason for putting tomato juice in a can of beer?
I have seen people open a can of beer and drink a little out of it then pour in a small can of tomato juice. Why? What is the purpose of this?

they are making a beer cocktail
usually its actually clamato juice, but can also just use tomato juice

They do it because they like the taste of it. Some use clamato instead. I’ve even seen beer coolers.

This is actually one of the classic beer cocktails (up there with shandy), and it’s called a Red Eye. I’m personally not a fan but there are tons of people out there who like them. I have also seen people adding Clamato as well, but am not sure what the name is.
